Brown curtain pole

Curtain poles come in many shapes, sizes and materials. Most customers choose a pole to match their own decor and taste and then ask HHS to fix them to the wall.  Some are supplied as fixed lengths which we can cut to accordingly, others come as extendable poles. The disadvantage with an extendable one is that there will always be a slight ridge where the smaller pole fits inside the larger one.

When you measure the length you need, be sure to allow enough extra for the side overhangs. In most instances by at least an extra 18″ or 45cm. Unless you instruct us otherwise, we will thread the curtains onto the pole and leave you with no additional work to do!

untreated pine shelving slats built by HHS in a customers airing cupboard

To maximise storage and drying space in any airing cupboard. there needs to be a certain degree of organisation. New build homes with airing cupboards rarely come with shelving but worry not, HHS can rescue the situation and build to your specification the most practical slatted shelving possible.

Slatted shelves allow clothes to air and dry far better than they would on a solid shelf.

We will fit the shelves as efficiently as possible around pipes and any other obstacles.

Beautiful wood style Venetian blinds at a home with a rubber plant in front of them

Blinds are available in many types and are made of many different materials.

We have experience of fitting roller blinds, venetian blinds, roman blinds and vertical blinds.

The photo shows a set of faux wooden Venetian blinds, floor to ceiling that we fitted over patio doors and side windows.  The customer measured up and we fitted them. We are always happy to measure before you order and in many ways prefer to so we know the blinds will have a good chance of fitting!

New internal door handles can rejuvenate your house interior. The photo shows a before and after shot of the customer’s bedroom door. She was starting to let the room out and needed a locking bedroom door. We were able to match the same style of handle and also give the increased usefulness of a locking sashlock supplied with 3 keys.

Cottage and garden showing the white Conservatory now brown

White is the default colour for UPVC conservatories, window frames and doors. A wider colour palette is now available for new installations but what to do if your home has white that now is looking drab and past its best?

Paint technology has improved and primers are now available to allow regular top coat paint colours to be applied.

If the surface is prepared properly this coloured paint will last for years .

This photo shows a formerly white conservatory which we prepared to take the brown top coat which blends well with the dark frames and oak woodwork already installed.

newly painted kitchen cupboard doors

This kitchen was transformed by changing the colour of the cupboard doors.

This customer was happy with the layout and functionality of her existing kitchen units, but bored with the ‘look’ of them.

Intense preparation of the woodwork was absolutely essential for this to succeed and the effect was accentuated by renewing the door knobs and handles too.
